Newtonian fluids are the fluids that have a linear relationship between viscosity and shear stress and it gives the simplest mathematical model of fluids that account for viscosity. In this type of fluids, the coefficient of viscosity remains same when we apply shear stress on the fluids. Fluids such as water, oil or ethylene glycol all are examples of Newtonian fluid. The fluids that do not obey this linear relationship property are named as Non-Newtonian fluids. Different types of Newtonian and non-Newtonian flows exist in literature.
