I call this an odd and quirky memoir with a surprising, uplifting message of hope. My back cover reads: In this book you'll find all my dirty little secrets: the embarrassment, the shame, the... More > absurd, the downright stupid. You will also find sprinkled some deep, dark moments that will still somehow make you smile, possibly laugh, maybe even snort a time or two, if you're prone to that sort of thing. OK, well, a) you will probably feel better about yourself because I’m pretty sure by comparison your life has been a little more together than mine. Hmmm, b) I mention the word “sex,” and c) there’s a cat chapter? That’s all I got.< Less

More > two daughters and my two sons) said they wanted copies. Gradually, we cautiously sent a few copies of We Remember to friends, relatives, and eventually, The Milan Historical Society. So it’s out there now, listed on Lulu.com and anyone that wants to can order a copy. Lordy mercy! Should we have been more careful of what we said? We think it’s pretty tame, and hopefully we offended no one. We had a lot of fun remembering. We realized while writing our first book that it would require a sequel, a follow up of our junior high and senior high years. It would not be as easy to write for the ensuing years brought yearnings to be popular and angst when we weren’t. It brought thoughts of boys, cars and driving, high school sports, Saturday night dances, worries about grades, and college.< Less
