Our proposed master plan for the city of Sandnes, Norway was a collaborative effort of our 12-member graduate studio (sdr1.74) from the College of Architecture Planning and Design of Kansas State... More > University led by Professor Torgeir Norheim. Visiting Regnier Chair faculty members, Reinhard Kropf and Siv Helene Stangeland (Helen & Hard Architects, Stavanger, Norway) and studio subsystem_13 were very beneficial in the two-semester long process of developing and implementing the master plan. Over the course of the Fall semester of 2010, we researched and visited the city of Sandnes and (re-)developed the core of our theory and strategies. Then in the Spring of 2011, we implemented those ideas and finalized the master plan while working at both the urban and architectural scales. In the end, we found that we posed many questions and found few answers, but to us the questions were what became important.< Less
