The Blackburn family farmed at Spaldington and Holme on Spalding Moor, near Howden in the East Riding, before moving to Goole Fields. Later, members of both families lived in Goole itself. There were sizeable branches in Hull, Todmorden and other parts of Yorkshire, and one large branch as far away as Seaham Harbour in County Durham. The book includes these side branches too. It is also a work of found poetry built on what is likely the largest appropriation ever made. As we become increasingly more dependent on information and source material on the Internet today, Mandiberg explores the accessibility of its vastness.< Less
