This book is the Travel Journal of Lloyd & Ellen Pearson, taken in 1991 in our motor home towing our Nissan pickup truck for excursions about the towns on our travels. Fishing for salmon in the... More > Kenai, hiking the trails in Denali, we observed the Equinox giving us the longest day and the shortest 4-hour nights, touring many of the old ghost gold towns scattered about the great state of Alaska. We had the opportunity to walk up to and touch three icebergs, and even got to walk upon the Worthington Glacier, watching the eagles soar high about the tree tops carryring food back to the young ones in high up built nest. Watching bears in Hyder, Alaska wading in the wide, shallow river to catch salmon swimming up stream to spawn was most interesting. The bears would eat part of one salmon, drop it to catch a large one to snack upon. Camping was most enjoyable on our trip, setting up camp in out of the way state or providential campgrounds. The big draw backs was the very expensive gas purchased in Canada.< Less

Catching updrafts beautifully, a soaring eagle glided effortlessly a foot above spiked tops of ridge-sprouting, softwood trees. A left-wing moved upward missing a taller tree-top by inches. ... More > Seconds later, another tree-top was avoided with the right-wing. No wing-flapping occurred. Line of flight was maintained. That magnificent raptor was counter-steering. My long-time companion and two-up riding partner, once an active pilot,.said motorcycling was the closet thing to flying without an airplane or flapping wings. Ray describes some biking experiences covering many miles over many years. Imagine non-helmeted enthusiasts, piloting suicide-shift Harley’s, through the dispute over whether or not buddy-seats should be allowed on motorcycles, to all-too-often, sitting beside dirt roads, trying to fix a broken chain by pounding on a link with a piece of rock.< Less

It is my theological presupposition that GOD knew us long before we were detectable in our mother’s womb. I am of the strong opinion that GOD knew every victory, success, as well as setback and... More > downfall long before we drew our first breath. Knowing this provides me great comfort, particularly given the fact that there are times in life when and where we are confronted with situations and circumstances which test and try our faith. There are moments in life, when and where we are confronted with our frailty and our weakness. Isaiah 40:31 for me is a scripture that has provided me great comfort and reassurance as I have faced my own challenges in life. This familiar passage reminds us that regardless of what we are facing, we serve a GOD who can and who will renew, restore and revive us: “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint”.< Less
