More > Βράιλας Αρμένης (1812 - 1884) ήταν Έλληνας φιλόσοφος και πολιτικός του 19ου αιώνα.Γεννήθηκε στην Κέρκυρα το 1812. Σπούδασε αρχικά στην Ιόνιο Ακαδημία. Από εκεί μετέβη στο Παρίσι, όπου ασχολήθηκε με την Φιλοσοφία. Μετά από πολυετείς σπουδές επέστρεψε στην πατρίδα του και διορίστηκε καθηγητής της Φιλοσοφίας στην Ιόνιο Ακαδημία. Λίγο μετά την μεταπολίτευση του 1862 αναδείχτηκε καθηγητής της Φιλοσοφίας στο Εθνικό Πανεπιστήμιο. Κλήθηκε να αντικαταστήσει τον Φίλιππο Ιωάννου, τον οποίο απάλλαξε η νέα κυβέρνηση επειδή τον θεωρούσε φιλοβασιλικό, αλλά δε δέχτηκε τη θέση.Ασχολήθηκε και πρωτύτερα με την πολιτική, αλλά από την ένωση όμως και μετά αφοσιώθηκε αποκλειστικά στον δημόσιο βίο.
