More > design systems applicable to users. Based on the contents, training courses can be prepared to suit the candidates, mainly workshops concerned with human-computer interactions, systems development, and systems methodologies. In computing, the major theme is the responsibility to the system user, the individual, and the company; to help with their problems and requirements in system development. The emergent technologies and the pace of change are placing increasing importance upon organisations and individuals being finely tuned, in performance terms. Visualizing Data Structures By Rhonda Hoenigman
eBook (ePub): $15.00
This book is intended for an introductory data structures class, either as a supplement to a traditional textbook or as a stand-alone resource. The intended audience is second-semester computer... More > science students with knowledge of programming in C or C++. The focus is on fundamental concepts of data structures and algorithms and providing the necessary detail for students to implement the data structures presented. Basic data structures, including arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, binary search trees, tree balancing, hash tables, and graphs are presented, including the operations on those data structures. The algorithms are presented in a language that could be called “pseudocode with C++ tendencies.” In many cases, basic C++ is also provided. Sorting algorithms and an introduction to complexity analysis and Big-Oh notation are also included. Each chapter includes numerous pictures depicting the data structures and how the basic operations on the structures modify their contents.< Less
On the Structure of Complex Networks By Daniel Grady
Paperback: $51.90

Large-scale complex networks in natural, social, and technological systems exhibit an abundance of rich information, and extracting meaningful structural features from network data is one of the most... More > challenging tasks in network theory. Nonetheless, understanding these networks is essential to explaining phenomena in transportation, epidemiology, sociology, economics, and other fields. This book presents three novel analyses of large-scale empirical networks. First, a comparison of two world-wide transportation systems reveals many statistical similarities despite extremely different operational and geographic constraints. Second, we develop a new method for determining geographic borders based on human mobility. Finally, we demonstrate how measuring networks in terms of shortest-path trees can identify a robust network skeleton, and its relevance in predicting dynamical processes.
