More > Catherine was one of the most brilliant theological minds of her day, although she never had any formal education. In about 1366, Catherine experienced what she described in her letters as a "Mystical Marriage" with Jesus, later a popular subject in art as the Mystic marriage of Saint Catherine. Full copyright credit is given to the Te Ara and NZ History websites for the Ngā tohu – treaty signatories charts. The abbreviations, layout, indexing and formatting errors are mine. The only significant contentious issue, in the writers opinion, concerns the interpretation, understanding and translation of the word “sovereignty” – as used and understood in the Declaration of Independence and the ‘Treaty of Waitangi’ – in that those chiefs who signed both agreements retained Sovereignty with the Declaration but ceded it when they signed the ToW. However, most would argue that there are fundamental differences between the final English draft and Maori translated Tiriti o Waitangi.< Less

Whole countries are racked with civil wars and chaotic ongoing conflicts, either in the whole country or in substantial parts of them.
