Every one of my students have read through the book and know my dog so that makes it very personal for them. The book also has a personal drawing area which adds to the personality of the book. As I look at all of my books growing up I see areas I colored with crayon and it brought back great memories. The illustrator is my brother so it made the book even more of a family project.
