I finished the story and received first place in the adult category of the competition. Each of the stories reflect beliefs I have about life and have many elements of truth in them. The short story The Prayer, is based on actual events in my life in 2003. I relayed all that happened, exactly as they happened. Though some of the characters have family names, I simply used them because they were familiar. If you like a good short story, I believe you will enjoy these little trips into my mind.
