He stayed to pursue studies at the General Theological Seminary and was later ordained a priest in the Episcopal Church. From 1894 to 1925 he was also an instructor and later a professor in the Oriental Department at Columbia University. The Death of a Nation combines a short historical account of the Assyrians and the Church of the East with a moving account of the tragedy and suffering they endured at the onset of World War I.< Less
