In the fall of 2007, we students in Andy Willemsen and Alison Lavois class at the River Valley Charter School in Newburyport, Massachusetts studied Native American culture and were introduced to... More > Native American Creation Myths. When we first heard these stories, we didn't get too excited about them, but as we got more into the project we realized that creation stories were a huge part of Native American culture. This learning inspired us to write our own.
Through our writing we discovered that it was cool to think of the world differently than how it is today and to mix a religious tone with something
more scientific. We also really liked thinking more deeply about stars and planets and the universe in general.
It has been really fun to turn this work into a collection. It was an experience we all enjoyed and that we are really proud of.
We hope all who read our stories will enjoy them as we have.< Less
