Adopt A Standard Invoice Numbering Convention By Homework Help Classof1
eBook (PDF): $1.99
A major cause of duplicate payments is multiple copies of the same supplier invoice being entered in the computer system, but with slight variations on the invoice number that keep the computer from... More > flagging them as duplicate invoices. This is an especially common problem when suppliers issue invoices with leading zeros, since one data entry clerk may enter the zeros, while another may ignore them. It is also common for employee expense reports and a variety of utility billings, since these documents have no invoice number. It also happens when an original invoice is not paid on time, so the supplier floods the company with extra copies of the invoice, hoping that one of the copies will eventually be paid.< Less

Since the 1950’s character recognition has been an active field of research for computer scientists worldwide. The main reason is that character recognition is not only an interesting area of... More > theoretical research with relevance to many pattern recognition sub-fields, but also a very needed and useful real life application. Making computers able to read would allow for substantial savings in terms of the costs for data entry, mail processing, form processing and many other similar situations. Every realistic character recognition system requires a feature extraction step in order to properly operate. This book is a large-scale review of the feature extraction approaches for character recognition based on literature review and experimental results. An original classification system is described, which groups feature extraction methods depending on their theoretical approach. The developed classification system aids in comparison and analysis of the feature extraction methods.< Less

More > Leary’s fans.**Timothy Francis Leary (October 22, 1920 – May 31, 1996) was an American psychologist and writer, known for his advocacy of psychedelic drugs. During a time when drugs such as LSD and psilocybin were legal, Leary conducted experiments at Harvard University under the Harvard Psilocybin Project, resulting in the Concord Prison Experiment and the Marsh Chapel Experiment. Both studies produced useful data, but Leary and his associate Richard Alpert were fired from the university nonetheless because of the public controversy surrounding their research. Leary believed LSD showed therapeutic potential for use in psychiatry. He popularized catchphrases that promoted his philosophy such as "turn on, tune in, drop out"; "set and setting"; and "think for yourself and question authority".< Less

This dissertation discusses the development of an improved method for the static and dynamic analysis of driven piles for both forward and inverse solutions. The finite element routine developed was... More > a three dimensional model of the hammer, pile and soil system. Soil properties were aggregated to simplify data entry and analysis. The three-dimensional model allowed for more accurate modeling of the various parts of the system and phenomena. Soil layering was flexible and could either follow the grid generation or be manually input. The forward method could either model the hammer explicitly or use a given force-time history, analyzing the pile response. The inverse method used an optimization technique to determine the aggregated soil properties of a given layering scheme. In both cases the static axial capacity of the pile was estimated using the same finite element model as the dynamic method and incrementally loaded. The results were then analyzed using accepted load test interpretation criteria.< Less
