PERFORMANCE OF RC BUILDING UNDER DYNAMIC FORCES AND SUITABILITY OF STRENGTHENING BY FRP JACKETING By Ganesh Lakade, Dr. Chetan Pise, Yashwant Pawar
eBook (PDF): $8.99
In the recent past, India has seen mass destruction due to failure of structures hit by earthquakes and consequently, lost a lot of lives. Hence, it is of utmost importance that attention be given to... More > the evaluation of the adequacy of strength in RC framed structures to resist strong ground motions. In this project, a 15 year old four storey reinforced concrete structure has been considered, which lies in Seismic Zone III according to IS 1893:2002 classification of seismic zones in India. For non-structural members masonry infill has been assumed. In the Equivalent Static Method of analysis, the seismic load acting on the structure is assumed to be an equivalent static horizontal force applied to individual frames. The total force applied shall be equal to the product of the acceleration response spectrum and the seismic weight. It is used only for low to high rise buildings without significant coupled lateral-torsional modes.< Less

The interlinear is closely connected to translation work in general. Where translation occurs, there one will find an interlinear in one form or another. What is meant by “interlinear”?... More > An interlinear consists of two parts, the original language text, accompanied by its translated text, above or below the line. Where the “interlinear” text is found next to the original language text (in brackets), the translation could be classified as an interlinear, although strictly speaking, it should be called an “intertext” translation. This Introduction examines the history and development of the interlinear Bible.< Less

Getting Started with Grails By Jason Rudolph
eBook (PDF): $15.80

Grails is an open-source, rapid web application development framework that provides a super-productive full-stack programming model based on the Groovy scripting language and built on top of Spring,... More > Hibernate, and other standard Java frameworks. Ruby on Rails pioneered the innovative coupling of a powerful programming language and an opinionated framework that favors sensible defaults over complex configuration, but many organizations aren't yet ready to stray from the safety of Java or forgo their current Java investments. Grails makes it possible to achieve equivalent productivity in a Java-centric environment. Over the course of this book, the reader will explore the various aspects of Grails and also experience Grails by building a Grails app.< Less

The book approaches questioning actions using a resolution modality based on the intersection of two equivalence relations representing information & questioning & gives a general &... More > extensible implementation for complex questioning & resolution dynamic actions. We study strategic aspects in games with questions & interactive inquiry with oracles encoding imperfect information or limited experimental procedures. We use a tripartite interpretation for questions in multi-agent contexts. We implement questioning games, compute game matrices & give an algorithm for minimizing issue-epistemic models to capture behavioral equivalence as intersimulation. We use backtrack oracle search heuristics to study Nash equilibria in the location game on a line. We characterize NE by local game properties & use querying an oracle of local properties & matching profile fragments to design efficient strategies for solving LG. We implement LG in Alloy Analyzer & check assertions of logical entailment.< Less

This book starts from the axioms of traditional quantum logic and extends this model such that it incorporates physical fields as well as dynamics. It uses the isomorphism between the set of... More > propositions of traditional quantum logic and the set of closed subspaces of an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space that uses quaternions in order to specify its inner products. In order to implement dynamics, the developed model applies a sequence of extended quantum logics or equivalently a sequence of extended separable Hilbert spaces. Each of the members of the sequence represents a static status quo of the universe. This leads to a new model of physics: The Hilbert Book Model The book explains the existence of all known elementary particles of the standard model and shows how these particles get their mass and inertia. Due to its usage of quaternionic quantum state functions the model offers a completely new view into the undercrofts of fundamental physics.< Less
