Automatic railway signalling system By kesidi lakshmi
eBook (ePub): $8.99
The railroad industry’s own desire to maintain their ability to provide safe and secure transport of their customers materials, has introduced new challenges in rail security. Addressing these... More > challenges is important, as railroads, and the efficient delivery of their cargo, play a vital role in the economy of the country. The present project is designed to satisfy the security needs of the railways. This system provides the security in four ways: automatic gate opening/closing system at track crossing, signalling for the train driver, tracking the signals, and the track protection. The automatic gate opening/closing system is provided with Reflection sensors placed at a distance of few kilometers on both sides from the crossing road. These sensors give the train reaching and leaving status to the embedded controller at the gate to which they are connected. The controller operates (close/open) the gate as per the received signal from the Reflection sensors.< Less
Systems Biology of Mitosis By Bashar Ibrahim
Hardcover: $87.64
Prints in 3-5 business days
Mitosis can be thought of as a finely regulated and exceedingly complex process. During the process of cell division, a cell's chromosomes are eventually distributed between two daughter nuclei.... More > Molecular biologists typically characterize the activity, aggregation and interactions of tens of cellular elements involved in mitosis, although the relation between such interacting elements and their respective environment remains still elusive. Predictions, therefore, are not straightforward. There is a need for a system-level understating of the regulatory mechanisms involved in mitosis. This might be of major relevance for medical research, as well as for a better understating of other cellular processes. We shall refer to our work as to ``Systems Biology of Mitosis''. Our focus is on human cells, and we benefit from modeling and simulation approaches embedded in a cross-disciplinary framework, in order to contribute to a deeper understanding of mitotic regulatory mechanisms.< Less

Analysis and Optimization of Multi-Processor System-on-Chip Platforms By Giovanni Beltrame
Paperback: $9.97
Prints in 3-5 business days
This book presents the issues related to the design of complex multi-processor systems on a single chip, also known as MPSoC. The span of this work covers all the high level phases of the design of... More > MPSoC, aiming at providing the basis to speed-up and simplify the System to Register-Transfer Level (RTL) design phase. This work covers four main areas: modeling, simulation, design, and optimization of MPSoC. All of these contributions have been tested on three real, industrial applications: a gigabit IPv4 forwarder, developed at STMicroelectronics, that shows the applicability of the methodology to high-speed network applications; an MPEG4 encoder and an Ogg-Vorbis encoder, proving the efficiency for multimedia applications, video and audio, respectively.< Less
Real Time Based Vehicle Tracking & Cabin Safety Monitoring System By Dr. Somu Venkateswarlu & Dr Kamesh DBK
eBook (ePub): $4.99
(1 Ratings)
Motor vehicles are the prime source of transportation where vehicles with A/C play a major role. This Project designs an embedded system for a vehicle cabin, which senses the gases like... More > carbon-monoxide (CO) and oxygen at each and every second. If the level of the CO increases than the normal level (30ppm) or the level of the oxygen decreases than the normal level (19%) then an alarm is generated automatically and also ventilation is provided immediately. The GPS modem will continuously give the data i.e. the latitude and longitude indicating position of the vehicle. Here piezo electric buzzer is used to detect the vibrations that are occurred in case of any accidents and it sends signal to microcontroller to send latitude and longitude information to the number stored in microcontroller.< Less
Smart Object, not Smart Environment: Cooperative Augmentation of Smart Objects Using Projector-Camera Systems By David Molyneaux
Paperback: $11.19
Prints in 3-5 business days
This thesis presents the concept of Cooperative Augmentation, a new approach to adding output capability to smart objects through cooperation with projector-camera systems. Projector-camera systems... More > provide a generic display service, available for spontaneous use by any smart object. We embed the knowledge required for visual detection, tracking and projection of non-invasive and interactive projected displays on object surfaces within the smart object itself and use embedded sensing to constrain the visual detection process. Cooperative Augmentation allows smart objects to deliver visual feedback to users from implicit and explicit interaction with information represented or sensed by the physical object, supporting objects as both input and output medium simultaneously. This contributes to the central vision of Ubiquitous Computing by enabling users to address tasks in physical space with direct manipulation and have feedback on the objects themselves, where it belongs in the real world.< Less
