More > collection with a warning not to forget the common, that it contains truths to be remembered and discovered. This thought carries readers into the rest of my collection. Diverse in subject matter, the poems range from the lighthearted to confessional and serious. In reading Wordsworth, I like the way he takes the common subjects and “throw[s] over them a certain coloring of the imagination,” making the usual seem unusual. “Amishland Cow Tipping” exemplifies my incorporation of this idea when the pushed cow tips, allowing it to see the world in a fresh way. While I want my poetry to be entertaining and enjoyable, I hope that it leaves my readers encountering the world in a new, fresh way.< Less

More > Amazon.co.uk Encounter is a collection of poems written mostly in free verse but with some traditional poetic forms included. The poems are divided into three themes – love, nature and life, but of course, themes overlap. Linda has experienced all sides of love – the joy it brings, the pain when it goes wrong, unrequited and learning to move on. Her aim is to show that it really is possible to overcome heartbreak and start again with hope and confidence. She is constantly inspired by nature and she invites you to share with her the thrill of a new spring, mercurial summer, the glorious colours of autumn and the frozen wonders of winter.< Less

My work is an exploration of horror and how it manifests itself through a character's surroundings and the external forces which interact with a character. This particular story is about the meeting... More > which takes place between the central character, walking along the road one lonely evening, and a strange, unnerving figure who defies explanation and sparks his curiosity, eventually leading him on a psychological journey. My ultimate aim is to provoke a reaction in the reader which is hard to describe - a reaction which I have attempted to provoke by the darkness expressed at all levels of the story. Tone is the most important feature of the story, and I have sought to create a dark tone which takes on a darker edge as the plot progresses, climaxing, I hope, in a twist in the story which is truly in the gothic horror vein. I hope it proves an entertaining read.< Less
