The variables in thickness and technique allow for each work to be one of a kind. The process itself is more involved than traditional printing. The glass itself has to be prepared prior to exposure and development. Each plate is hand cut, washed, and then chemically cleaned with sodium carbonate and subbed with a solution of gelatin to give the emulsion a substrate to adhere to. Due to the delicate nature of the emulsion great care is needed during processing.< Less
