(Free download) - Do we expect God to honor His ancient promises when we don't honor His ancient New Testament commands? 1 Corinthians is written to "know...whether ye be obedient in all... More > things" (II Cor. 2:9) as Paul challenged their power (I Cor. 4:19). A Nehemiah 8 view means that currently ignored commands to the Church will be cherished once again, as happened with Israel coming out of captivity. Israel had not observed since Joshua the Lev 23:42-43 command to dwell in booths in the feast of the 7th month. The Church today has likewise ceased to obey numerous "commandments of the Lord" in 1 Corinthians. The reader is cordially invited to re-examine scripturally the application of 1 Corinthians’ instructions to the Body of Christ in the 21st century in context of an unbiased study on the relevance and scope of the Law. PLUS - Genetics vs. Evolution based on the author’s coursework in Cellular Biology, Organic Evolution, Molecular Biology, and Geology. Comments requested!< Less

Spatial and Temporal Heterogeneity of Host-Parasitoid Interactions in Lupine Habitat By R. W. Wright

Doctoral Dissertation -- Applied Mathematics -- University of California, Davis. The inhabitants of the bush lupine in coastal California have been the subject of scientific scrutiny in recent years.... More > Observations of a host-parasitoid interaction in the shrub's foliage record stable spatial patterns in a fairly homogeneous environment. Near the root of the lupine, another host-parasitoid interaction is also of considerable interest. In some cases this interaction has been observed to be much more persistent than suggested by mathematical models. In this work, a discrete-time spatial model of the first host-parasitoid system is introduced. We analyze the model, describing its transient behavior and finding the conditions under which spatial patterns occur, as well as an estimate of outbreak size under those conditions. We also explore one possible explanation for the persistence of the second host-parasitoid system.< Less
