After 1859, Edward relocated south, eventually settling in Florida. He was a captain in the militia there and, in 1871, he built a residence in Cedar Key which today functions as a local museum. For over 25 years, he served Cedar Key as an attorney; he also served as mayor. John Brooks Lutterloh was Edward’s nephew and a son of Dr. Frederic H. Lutterloh and Angelette Brooks Lutterloh of Chatham County, NC, and Gatesville, TX. In Cedar Key, John served as a merchant and as mayor.< Less
