About the 2017 Women of Animal Rescue Calendar: When people think of the people that rescue animals, specifically, women who rescue cats, they have a certain perception. You can imagine what that... More > is. This calendar was inspired by a woman, Elizabeth Newsom, who shatters that impression and by this group of women in New York. Some have careers saving and helping animals. Some spend a large portion of their free time rescuing and feeding cats. They capture strays, neuter or spay them and return them (TNR). They help find homes for friendly strays, provide winter housing, and most importantly, provide these animals with a much-needed food source. No matter how young, beautiful and perky these heroic women are, you might see them in jeans and hoodies, crawling into basements, climbing trees and trudging through all sorts of conditions. We thought you would like to see the other side of these women, dressed up, smiling and flirty.< Less

More > historians. In trying to redress such a huge imbalance, I have focused mainly on male painters. As a retired psychiatrist, I could not write about these artists, and the women who were their intimate partners, without considering their psychopathology. In writing about this I have struggled to avoid jargon and to ensure readability. The main focus is on the relationship between psychopathology and creativity, with some comments about the effects of psychiatric treatment on the creative process. The overall bias of the book is feminist, but my voice here is not strident. I have tried to comment sensibly on what modern women may learn from the truly heroic women who are the main focus of this work.< Less
