Il est aussi membre de la Commission exécutive de la Fédération des Métaux. Il est mobilisé chez les pompiers de Paris, puis détaché dans une fabrique de matériel de guerre.De 1918 au 18 février 1920, Hyacinthe Dubreuil est permanent au secrétariat de l’Union des syndicats de la Seine, remplacé par Gaston Guiraud.
