More > his shock photographs used in Benetton ads. The fake Toscani sent to Flash Art photographs of the work of invented contemporary artists, a Nigerian, a Slav, an Arab and an Italian. From the Arab, described as spokesman for art jihad, ther were photographs of performance art called “the children of Osama”(bin Laden). From the Slav came a series of pedopornographic photographs that been downloaded from the Internet. There was a hint that Benetton would sponsor an art biennial in Tirana, Albania, if these four artists were publicised well enough. Toscani has begun legal action against the unknow perpetrators of the hoax.
