This book is a compilation of my deed research in North Carolina. It contains my personal notes, research, and plats. I used a computer plat program to create plats from deeds. This book also... More > contains maps of deeds placed in their modern location. The deeds I worked on I include a transcript (of the key info), and then it's indexed. Therefore, the index has all key info, such as "pile of stones" so that you can search survey information- easily. This book is meant to assist researchers, not a complete book of every record etc. A lot of Clapp, Holt, Albright, Linn, Keck, and many others of today's Alamance Co. are included in this collection. A separate book is dedicated for Guilford County, although SOME Guilford deeds are included here(primarily for county boundary research). NOTE: this book is the result of my 3 years of research, which continues today. THEREFORE it will change - via Edition number. NEW PLATS * TRACT 11 info 2012 *< Less

A CENTURY ON THE LAND chronicles the 1887 homesteading of Geo. Henry Bassingthwaighte from Canada to what was to become Hannah, North Dakota. Born on the land, David G. Bassingthwaite, the third... More > generation owner since 1962, describes 100 years of North Dakota farming in Cavalier County. The book details the changes in production methods and farm mechanization and revealing much about family living conditions in one of the most rural settings in the cold northern plains. This farm, like many others throughout the Great Plains, had remarkable cyclical economic conditions as the rapid settlement brought vast numbers of people to the vacant land. The book shows how the population changed little for a quarter century, then declined 75 percent in half a century. This work started as a genealogical record. It quickly became a far more ambitious research project and something more than a family story. Over 240 photos and graphics are essential to the story.< Less

Land and Sea By Richard J. McQueen, FERNAND D'AMICO, JACQUES WISMAN

The subject of Land and Sea, based on the research topics conducted by Fernand D'Amico and Jacques Wisman, is proposed in this book as a themed walk through the passages of Scripture from the Old ... More > and New Testament. The biblical text (KJV) is presented deliberately devoid of additional comments to offer an immediate and direct perception of the selected track. The thematic reading of the biblical text opens to the reader as a fascinating experience that allows him to benefit in a short time, a surprising and rich picture of content. The land and the sea are the symbolic soul of the human universe. In the context of biblical discourse any reference to these places and full of mystical meanings. That part which represents the boundary between sea and land, is more in keeping with the ancestral topography of human soul and life.< Less
Inherit the Land By Robert Noyola

This book is a work of fiction. As a novelist, I have used real characters and legends to add credence to the time and place of real historical events. The main characters are fictional but they are... More > copied from real people or a combination of people. The real star is the City of San Antonio and I hope I have done all the citizens justice. Any error of fact is my responsibility, and I am grateful to all those people who talked to me during my research. San Antonio is a great city that was built by a mixture of great people. From historical beginnings, a myriad of immigrants, and indigenous natives already here, looked forward to hard work, hardship, and sacrifice, to face the future alone, and with family, who lived life bold to create a great life and a great city. The city is the star of the story. These characters show us strength, weakness, greed, evil, love, and the will of the human spirit to survive and build a great city.< Less
