Along with defining words with my personal definitions, I added photographs to explore a text-image relationship that exists within each page. The random and playful design is meant to catch snapshots of my life, portraying an emotional response similar to my experiences. The design of this book is inspired by Dadaist work and more recently by book artists, such as John Carrera and his book Pictorial Webster’s. The idea for my tiled words was inspired by the look of magnetic poetry, which originally alluded to my limited word choice, but now is to illustrate that these are words I specifically choose in order to define myself.< Less
