Deanne Bayer was born in Saginaw, Michigan, in 1928. She spent her childhood in Cleveland, Ohio, and Brooklyn, New York. She earned a fine arts degree from Cooper Union in New York, and eventually... More > returned to Cleveland to work in advertising until she married in 1959. Her primary means of artistic expression was oil painting until arthritis forced her to turn her attention to fiction and poetry. She began publishing her poetry in the late 1980s, and published continuously until the end of her life. During this time, she was an active member of the Poetry Forum at Cleveland State University, which provided a vibrant community for her craft. She passed away in 2006.< Less
