More > knowledge and a poetic gesture towards the inhuman scale of big data. Michael Mandberg wrote software that parses the entirety of the English-language Wikipedia database and programmatically lays out nearly 7500 volumes, complete with covers, and then uploads them to Lulu.com for print-on-demand. Print Wikipedia draws attention to the sheer size of the encyclopedia's content and the impossibility of rendering Wikipedia as a material object in fixed form: Once a volume is printed it is already out of date. It is also a work of found poetry built on what is likely the largest appropriation ever made. As we become increasingly more dependent on information and source material on the Internet today, Mandiberg explores the accessibility of its vastness.< Less

The original drawings created by Jon, our children and myself are reproduced here too. Well, the church is still there; still a beautiful building, a credit and an ornament to the memory and the dreams of those who have gone before. Tales of My Landlord By Walter Scott
eBook (ePub): $3.99
Tales of My Landlord is composed by the following books; The Black Dwarf [1816] Old Mortality [1816] Illustrated The Heart of Midlothian [1818] Illustrated The Bride of Lammermoor [1819] A Legend of... More > Montrose [1819] Count Robert of Paris [1832] Castle Dangerous [1832] Of these, The Heart of Midlothian and The Bride of Lammermoor have been the most successful, and Old Mortality is considered by modern critics to be among Scott's best work. The fourth were the least successful. They were so called, because they were supposed to be tales collected from the (fictional) landlord of the Wallace Inn at Gandercleugh, compiled by a "Peter Pattieson", and edited and sent to the publisher by Jedediah Cleishbotham. This is gone into in great depth in the introduction to The Black Dwarf. The first series was planned to comprise four volumes, each containing a separate novel, but Scott by his own admission botched The Black Dwarf, and Old Mortality came to be three volumes in its own right.< Less
