Travelution By Kelcy Dolan et al.
eBook (PDF): $0.99
Extensive research has been done to try to harness the experiences of travelers we know who have traveled from the 1970s to the present day. The main focus of our book is how the experience of... More > planning a trip has evolved over the decades, for better or for worse. With this research our group is going to try to enhance the readers knowledge by adding a fictional twist to the experiences of people we have interviewed. Our countries range from Spain, to Switzerland, China, and Siberia. As travelling becomes easier, the world becomes smaller, and our horizons expand larger. In our search for the evolution of travel, we similarly wanted to write in a revolutionary way. We wanted the stories of our interviewees to be more than just transcriptions on a page. We wanted our subjects’ voice to come through the page to shake the reader by the hand before the story was told. We strove to create oral histories in an effort to have our audience not only read our subjects’ stories, but travel with them.< Less

eBook (ePub): $3.99
Andrew Lang's Fairy Books — also known as Andrew Lang's "Coloured" Fairy Books or Andrew Lang's Fairy Books of Many Colors — are a twelve-book series of fairy tale collections.... More > Although Andrew Lang did not collect the stories himself from the oral tradition, the extent of his sources, who had collected them originally — with the notable exception of Madame d'Aulnoy — made them an immensely influential collection, especially as he used foreign-language sources, giving many of these tales their first appearance in English. As acknowledged in the prefaces, although Lang himself made most of the selections, his wife and other translators did a large portion of the translating and telling of the actual stories. According to Anita Silvey, "The irony of Lang's life and work is that although he wrote for a profession—literary criticism; fiction; poems; books and articles on anthropology, mythology, history, and travel ... he is best recognized for the works he did not write...< Less
