Renaissance typographic patterns were partly determined by requirements for the type production. He is the author of Rags of Time: A Season in Prison (Beacon, 1972); The Face of Falsehood (Anthoenson, 1986); and Bowery Blues: A Tribute to Dorothy Day (Xlibris, 2001).
