"Oh dear!" cried Alice impatiently, as she sat rocking in her chair, listening to the pattering of the rain upon the roof of the veranda. "I do wish there was something to do, or... More > somebody to do, or somewhere to go. The Gov'ment ought to provide covered playgrounds for children on wet days. It wouldn't cost much, to put a glass cover on the Park!" "A very good, idea! I'll make a note of that," said a squeaky little voice at her side. Alice sprang to her feet in surprise. She had supposed she was alone, and for a moment she was frightened, but a glance around reassured her, for strange to say, seated on the radiator warming his toes was her old friend the Hatter, the queer old chap she had met in her marvellous trip through Wonderland, and with him was the March Hare, the Cheshire Cat, and the White Knight from Looking Glass Land.< Less

The Lost Pyramid of Imhotep By Alphonso Warden
eBook (PDF): $6.00
The Lost Pyramid of Imhoptep is a 1E module designed for 4-6 adventurers of levels 4-7. Several months back, a small boy from the village of Ab-Amon happened upon a buried column while playing out... More > in the surrounding desert. He reported to the village elders that the column bore strange and frightening symbols that he, in his youthful exuberance, insisted were curses. Being as the boy was known to have a photographic memory, he was able to accurately draw the queer symbols for the village elders when asked. The elders, being somewhat familiar with the ancient history of their region, quickly came to the realization that the symbols must be associated in some way with a pharaoh, for they were enclosed by a lozenge-shaped border. Perhaps, just perhaps, the local wizard reasoned, the pillar could be linked to the tomb of the master architect Imhotep, whose final resting place has never been found.< Less

Emergency as Security By Maximilian Forte & Kyle McLoughlin
eBook (PDF): $0.00
Analysis of the historical context of the first “new imperialism” (Britain in the late 1880s) along with theorizing the normative, psychological, and socio-economic transformations of... More > neoliberal imperialism and U.S. exceptionalism. Also included are the gender dynamics of militarism: analysis of the “men of the frontier” syndrome; relationships between paternalism, effeminization, and imperialism; and, beginnings of the queering of empire. Links between imperialism, ecology, and environmentalism, and the unequal environmental exchange of the contemporary world system also come into focus. Retrospective analysis of the watershed events surrounding Hurricane Katrina in 2005 raises not only the specter of “humanitarian intervention” but also the rise of the nonprofit-industrial complex. Chapters on the military-industrial complex address the domestication of militarization in policing and surveillance and the militarization of entertainment media. Finally we consider guidelines for an anti-imperial anthropology.< Less
