More > semester-long studio entitled "Urban Options: The Park Reconfigured" researched the history and current state of parks and open space in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area, culminatng in designs that maximized the multifunctional aspects of future parks and open spaces. The designs are based on performance standards researched and generated by the students. Three categories of metrics were established; Environmental, Economic and Social/Cultural, which were further expanded to include water quality, habitat restoration, energy consumption and production, livability - magnet city, land use, transportation, accessibility, health and social equity. These are the resulting policy and design metrics. This publication was funded by the Mississippi Watershed Management Organization.< Less
