The pilots were evaluated using a variety of methods including a randomised controlled trial (RCT), in which groups of patients either received the telehealth intervention or acted as controls by receiving their usual care. With over 3,000 patients participating in the trial, the evaluation was the largest and most complex trial of telehealth in the world.
