More > Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome; he was missing the left lower chamber of his heart. Andrew had his first of five open heart surgeries when he was only two days old. The next was when he was nine months old, again at three years old. Andrew had his fourth open heart surgery at sixteen; this is also when Andrew’s first pacemaker was placed. Andrew had his final open heart surgery when he was nineteen years old. Andrew Wayne Prater died at the young age of twenty years old on September 4, 2010. Thanks to the generous organ and tissue donations by Andrew many people have been given a new beginning on their lives. Andrew lived most of his life in Cottage Grove, Minnesota and his tombstone may be viewed at the Newport Cemetery in Newport, Minnesota. Proceeds from this book will be donated to Camp Odayin.< Less
