Much of his work survives including a detailed account of his family which was invaluable in the writing of this book. The aim of this book is purely my attempt to be the first (as far as I know) to write and publish a history of the family, and to present it in a readable and interesting format. I have also included various highlighted sections on the times my ancestors lived in, and various explanatory notes, comments etc regarding genealogy so I hope it may also appeal to a wider audience.
