More > left side. He grabbed his last pistol, last clips. He waited. “Can’t be dead,” Martin said. “’Cause you boys don’t look like angels to me.” “Who sent you?” one man said, kicking Martin’s wound. “Why are you here?” The man kicked Martin again, but he didn’t drop his cigar. “Why the hell do you care why I’m here?” he asked. “You got me. Let’s do it. Just me, I’m afraid, sorry." “You’re connected. Gotta be. Who are you with?” “Me,” came a beautiful female voice from behind them. They turned fast and she shot them all, all but the one who’d kicked Martin’s leg. Martin used his last bullet on him. “You are, I must say again, the craziest man I’ve ever met,” she said, helping him up. “Chloe, I love you,” he said, grabbed her weakly, kissed her and passed out.< Less

I’m glad he did.” “Do you think we’ll make it?” Wanekia asked, obviously scared. “We will make it, even if they do come after us,” Chloe said. “I don’t think they’ll pursue us all the way, anyway. It’s a long way to go.” “Won’t they want their helicopter back?” Wanekia asked. “Probably,” Chloe said. “They can’t have it. They shouldn’t have taught me how to fly it.” Wanekia laughed, said, “They didn’t teach you. They took you for a test flight in it and you just memorized how to fly it.” Chloe smiled at her, said, “True. That was a lesson, though.” “Is Father going to be alright?” Wanekia asked. “Yes, of course,” Chloe said, not sure of her words. “He’s been hurt worse before.” “It won’t even estimate how long,” Wanekia said. “It’s done that before, too,” Chloe said. “He’ll be fine. We just need to get him someplace safe.”< Less
