After reading 3001: The Final Odyssey I was… disappointed… to say the least. Here was an opportunity to create a story that could then be translated onto the big screen with the... More > potential for being as visually breathtaking, if not more so, than both 2001 and 2010, and yet, for me, 3001 as Clarke tells it, does not offer the climaxes or the scope that the first two stories/movies do.
3001 has the potential to inspire people; what would the people of 3001 be like? What is that society like? How did we get form here to there? These are fascinating questions for us today as we face the many man made crises that threaten the Biosphere that we depend upon.
And what became of Dave Bowman and Hal?
So I began to wonder what the story could be like. And I started writing a screenplay...
