This effect can be presented with playing cards, or special cards or with business cards. It is not a card trick, but rather a mystery or paradox. You show a piece of paper or an agenda opened at the... More > current day, with your timetable for the day, and hand it to the participant. A deck of cards is borrowed and shuffled by a participant. She thinks of her favorite time of the day and secretly looks at the card. She then looks at your schedule and reads it. For instance, it says you wake up at 6am, start work at 8am, have lunch at twelve, finish work at 4pm (your favorite time of day ( -:) !), etc. The participant counts the cards for every time stated in advance on your schedule, and also for her secret favorite time of day. DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE COULD HAVE THOUGHT OF ANY TIME, and that you do not even knew it, the final card will ALWAYS be her card! Examples of presentations: - Predestination - Lucky hour - Mystery of time and space - Cinema festival - Happy hour - Lottery< Less

This is a compendium of ideas and effects related somehow to the « Any card at any number » plot, commonly called ACAAN. Mr David BERGLAS was the first one to present this... More > effect in the mid 70's . Even though all of them are not « perfect » ACAAN's, they are interesting and entertaining variants for an audience. Some are based on combinations of old principles, with some « twist » or new ideas. Most are card tricks, some are not. Some are impromptu or even improvised, some need some preparation. Some are hands off, some need some (easy) sleight of hand. Some are easy, some more difficult. Hopefully, you will find something that fits your style and skills. - GUESS MY CARD - FAIR ACAAN - SCAM ACAAN - FLASH AT CARNIVAL - BLIND ACAAN - SMART ACAAN - THE SIMPLEST (?) ACAAN IN THE WORLD - ANTI ACAAN - ACAAN FOR COUPLES - CARNIVAL IN NICE, 1932 - ACAARTN - NEWSPAPER ACAAN - PREDESTINATION - FIND THE CARD AND VALUE< Less

The « Phil trick » is so strong and funny, that it can be a closer, or even a standalone trick if you want to impress somebody, or get some booking. - A deck of cards is placed on the... More > table. A spectator is asked to merely think of any card. The performer says: "The name of your card is Phil!". The deck is shown to have different names printed on the back of every card, and the named card is found to have the name Phil on the back! This ebook is an alternate presentation and principle, that makes it much more powerful and mysterious. Instead of just a gag, you elevate it to a mental masterpiece. At the end, it leaves a strange feeling and makes the audience think...It gets great reactions, congrats, and applause. The simple and impromptu principle in use can be applied to other effects where you force something, not only a card and with or without a Phil deck. An improvised effect is provided that needs nothing special.< Less

This powerful utility will transcend a simple magic effect, or allow you to innocently bring something strange, during a normal conversation, or an act. -It seems to bring a plausible explanation to... More > people's choices. -It will provide misdirection or a logical disconnect, or another layer of deception. -It will prepare your audience for a bigger « surprise ». You can use it for your existing routines, and with many topics, as it is quite universal. It needs an easy one-time preparation you can carry with you all the time. It will then look casual and improvised, and justify a spectator's free choice. Example: A spectator is asked to name her favorite cocktail, and then, her favorite card. You now produce a « proof » that explains or partly justifies their free decisions. It can be followed with a kicker ending (in this particular example, for instance, you could produce the named card (with an invisible deck for instance).< Less
