The Story of Mas Heru

The story of Auset and Heru is so famous that many other ancient cultures added it to their story! Even now, some cultures raise a green tree and put a red ribbon around it on December 25th to celebrate the birth of their king, and make pictures of him and his mother. For modern Kemites though, this is a time to remember that this winter holiday originated with us. When we celebrate, it helps us to honor the wisdom of our ancestors, as well as to carry their legacy forward into the present day.
