Collecting interests and mentored past experiences by wave, Dr. Sharon L. Burton distributes and collaborates ideas from past experiences into the transition of becoming a better professional. This book translates past experiences from many professionals into several cases where a road block existed. Every person highlighted in this book was able to overcome adversity, yet also hold true to their beliefs and foundation. This book created a specific value to my interest as I was able to see how others had struggled yet I was able to pass over obstacles and surroundings. This book has helped me better understand what career moves and motives I need to make in order to successfully get over a road block or hill. This book also renews several disciplines that all wrap around coaching and mentorship. I believe this book is a strategically acclimated book that will help many professionals see a different light in their obstacles and practices.

Dr. Sharon L Burton's latest book, Transitioning to I Can from I Can't is a collection of heartfelt journeys that propels you to inventory your own boundaries. You will better understand your own personal triumphs in each testimony and find that you can continue to transition too. The beginning chapters set the foundation from both an academic and sociological perspective while transporting you to an inner space prepared to address your own challenges- past and present. What I enjoyed the most about this book is that it allowed me to align my personal challenges with a path for renewed reality and to embrace what I had considered an off-limits space in my human condition to acceptance of what I have transcended through. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to share my story in Chapter 13 and learn from others all throughout this masterfully written book.
