2008 // This is the inaugural ink-on-paper publishing project for Two Coats of Paint (www.twocoatsofpaint.com), and all sales help support the blog. In 2007, inspired by abstract easel paintings my reclusive father made in the sixties, I set out to create a series based on the structure of isolated observation towers. THE TOWER PAINTINGS: KEEPING OUR DISTANCE documents the process and tells a story about how painters move forward, backward, sideways, then maybe forward again. Full-color images of the entire unedited series are included, as well as drawings and an essay about my penchant for local observation towers.
