When it was suggested to the man who came to be known as T. Lobsang Rampa that he should write a book about his early life in Tibet he rejected the idea. He had no wish for the fame he knew it would bring, nor for the jealousy and the problems that jealousy would engender. But he needed money to do the research he had undertaken for the benefit of mankind, so eventually he agreed and wrote “The Third Eye,” a classic that brought Buddhism to the Western world and shed light in countless dark corners the world over. Now, his only close friend and confidante throughout his last quarter century on Earth has given us an inside look at the life of struggle and suffering endured by this fascinating and remarkable man in his effort to help humanity. Her own life of dedication and devotion to Lobsang Rampa is interwoven with his, and this book should be read by his followers and detractors alike, as well as by those new to metaphysics.

Jan 29, 2015I have not only enjoyed reading this wonderful book but also added to my knowledge so many incidents which occurred in Dr. Rampa's life and I did not know. I am a student of Dr. Rampa since 1969. This book has increased my respect towards the great sage Dr. Rampa and his wonderful adopted daughter respected Sheelagh Rouse. Sheelagh is a great lady and she writes so well it is amazing. I like her style of writing. She worked hard in typing Dr. Rampa's all books and looked after this sage so well. May God bless Sheelagh Rouse ! I request her to write more. My regards Pawan Kumar email@example.com
Feb 1, 2009"Twenty Five Years with Lopsang Rampa" The story Sheelagh has told brings to life the years she spent with 'Chen', his wife and their cats. No one else could have written this compelling book. The teller of the story quietly infuses her personal radiance thus adding a dimension as a special person in his life. Their life together, travels, and the true devotion of this amazing woman, tells a story that anyone familiar with the writings of Lopsang Rampa must read. An excellent read for anyone.
Apr 29, 2008"****** Twenty Five Years With T. Lobsang Rampa" This book is a must for anyone who has read the Rampa books. It's rare and fascinating to see something through the eyes of someone else who was there during the writing of all the books. After reading the book,I went through and compared incidents in the account (eg. the whole journey and stay in Uruguay) with both Rampa and his wife's accounts. In every case, the accounts were competely consistent, despite being told from a different viewpoint. Just because Sheelagh was the only one with this story to tell, didn't mean she would be able to do justice to the telling of it.But I happily found it is excellently written, and a 'warts and all' account, making it reliable. Rating: Excellent ****** (NB Star rating system should be showing maximum)
May 27, 2007This book completes my ‘Rampa’ collection nicely whilst giving a very rare insight into their private lives. Sheelagh; through her painting, tells us about the time she first met Lobsang, the struggles they all endured over the 25 years, their numerous travels and encounters, the sad sudden death of one of the Siamese cats and how she had to split company from Chen so he could depart to the heavenly fields. Also you can discover the outcome of Lobsang's predictions about Sheelagh. A ‘must have’ for any Rampa fan; without any doubt.
Dec 29, 2006"Lobsang Rampa" This is an excellent book. Sheelagh possesses real literary skill in the way she portrays Lobsang Rampa and other people. It is a sympathetic, witty and above all loving tribute to the man she knew simply as 'Chen'. Sheelagh who was Rampa's closest friend and confidant, skilfully builds a portrait of this extraordinary and enigmatic man. Highly recommended to anyone. Karen Mutton
