This thoughtfully written book underscores that it indeed does 'take a village' to support the healthy growth and happy development of vulnerable girls and women. Ms. Nageer's vibrant description of the Rupunnuni's landscape and cultural tapestry is complimented by the delicate drawings -which are perfect for filling in with a coloring pencil. This is a wonderful book for teaching principles of perseverance in the face of challenges; responsible leadership; and building supportive familial and community structures. Thumbelina and the Yarrow is a great learning and leisure read that naturally addresses cultural norms and societal responsibility.
