You won't be disappointed when you buy this cookbook. There are over 500 pages of recipes--everything from mozzarella sticks to a quick coffee cake and everything in between-- with an easy to use glossary. An interesting concept not found in most cookbooks is that it offers many varieties for the same dish. For instance, there are 8 different mac & cheese recipes and 6 different biscuit recipes. The layout of the book gives much white space so that the recipes are easy to read as you prepare your dish.
This is such a great cookbook. All recipes are for practical, good dishes. It is clearly written, easy to follow. But I think the best part is the narrative included with many of the recipes. What fun. Love it!
A very good cookbook. It's full of recipes I will actually make and uses ingredients I can buy from my regular grocery store. Every recipe I've tried so far has been really good. I especially liked the coconut pie recipe on page 447. I doubled the recipe and made two pies so I could use the entire can of cream of coconut. It was the best pie I've ever had. This book has it all, I think this is the only cookbook I will ever need.
I especially like the method of laying out the book. Space was left on each page to write notes to myself when I try the recipe, regarding the length in my oven, or if I liked it or not. Many of the recipes and directions add humor, I liked that part as well. Would like to know when the Second Edition comes out.
