Hanif Chant, is a refreshing treat for historical fiction lovers, especially those who admire the authentic art and deep cultural expression of jazz, while also valuing the unpredictability of the rollercoaster ride of ups, downs, triumphs, bonding, challenges, and uncertainty of a loving family. This book is an intimate, honest, and unique look into the life of musician (saxophonist), M.B. Hanif, a modern day Los Angeles and San Francisco Bay Area local jazz icon. Written in a rhythmic-rhyming format by his stepdaughter, Sidni Appleseed, published author of Ess-Eye-Dee-In-Eye (2009), Jesus' Niece (2011), and editor/co-author of Empathy for Strangers by Joe Jelikovsky (2011), true to Appleseed's signature style, each word is carefully chosen, hand picked, and purposefully placed into this handcrafted tapestry of the life of a man who gave music to the world, and how the world gave back when he needed it most.

This book is so moving and insightful! What a great look into dynamics of blended family life and how it can work in a positive, loving way. I truly enjoy Sidni Appleseed's style of writing and the pictures really do say 1,000 words! Thank you Sid.
