Allow me to introduce myself: I am Globnik, a Goblin Scholar and Gentleman of No Small Regard. I would not normally impose on you at such a late hour, but it is my pleasure to bring to your esteemed attention, this collection of short stories gathered from the Four Corners of the Land of Men.
I know what you are going to say: “Stories from the Big Folk, really? Why would I want to read such rubbish? What’s wrong with a good Goblin story?” And, you are of course right, no story written by Men could compare against the wit and expertise of the tales of Goblins, but alas! I must persuade you to read these stories, as not only might you end up enjoying them, being entertained, maybe even a little bit thrilled, but if you read them all, my family and I will be able to earn our keep down in the Fortress of the King; for my welfare, and those of my wife and children, depend on selling as many of these books as I can.
