"Atrocious waste of a potentially good subject" Thankyou Mr Pieman for the free download. I would have been extremely angry for having contributed to masacre more trees. What looked like a good subject turned to be a an ex-pat gossip blog with more nauseating "facts" about England than I could find about Portugal, from a person who seems to have learned precious little about Portugal, the Portuguese and their language or culture during his stay. For heavens sake, what drivel! What on earth did the self-professed pie scoffer eat for a year when there is not a single mention of the word "empada" (pie in Portuguese) in his so-called book? Did he not Google "receitas empada" and find all sorts of Portuguese PIE containing bacalhau (cod), tomato, shrimp, asparagus, meat? Did he not find the Oporto version of "Shepherds Pie"? Did he not come across the hot-dog sausage in puff pastry in Evora? How did he miss the little turkey pies that are... More > akin to the English pork pie? Now that is just his "specialist" area. I will leave the rest of the work to your imagination. Mr Pieman. Learn some Portuguese and leave your Englishness at home. Eat some humble pie and go back and write a proper book about Portuguese pies and I am sure you will meet some wonderful people and have something worthwhile to write about. Get hold of a dictionary and look up the word "petisco".< Less
