"Okay Tom, you get to choose. What is your favourite period of history?" Thomas looked a bit bewildered at the bizarre twist the conversation was taking but answered without really having to think about it. "The dinosaurs," he said. The Professor let out a huge groan and Rebecca beamed with delight at the answer. "Dinosaurs? Oh very good Tom, excellent choice. Right, is everybody ready?" She stared ahead for a second as if trying to see something in the distance and then stepped forward, pulling the children with her. The three of them disappeared... Thomas and Emily Fletcher are quite normal children; normal in that their uncle mysteriously disappeared and now a medieval knight is trying to kill them. The only way to find out why somebody wants them dead would be to go back in time and ask their uncle, and the only people that can help are the teachers at the Tempus Viator School of Excellence. By Alex Westby (Copied from another page) I loved this book. My favourite character is Nicolai as he is tough and clever. The best part of the book was the car chase in Rebecca´s Lambourgini.I really enjoyed the story and the way they bounced around history. I will take the book to school and give it my history teacher because if she made history this exciting it would be my best lesson not my worst. I cant wait for the next book.

I read a few pages of this book to check if it was suitable for my grandchildren. Several hours later, I had finished it! The adventures of the two children Tom and Emily are so well written about that it makes you want to keep on reading. The author doesn't avoid using difficult words but includes an explanation to help children learn and understand. His descriptions of different periods of time are well researched and interesting. This is an exciting and well written book for all ages and I would thoroughly recommend it.
