IL MIO BIANCO TACCUINO SOTTO IL SOLE (My White Diary Underneath The Sunlight) for violin, bass clarinet and marimba (2012) Music score The character of "narration" is a basic element of this piece. “Il mio bianco taccuino sotto il sole" goes through different continuous moments of one single story where several situations occur and several emotions are involved, and none of them goes lost. At the end of it, in a sort of “Coda”, a quotation of the melodic phrase “Es ist vollbracht”, from J.S. Bach’s Johannes Passion, takes us to a new landscape where the three instruments just gently evoke, as a lovely memory from far away, a traditional Sicilian tune: “Cantu di spartenza” (Song Of Departure).
