Very useful reprint. This book contains the correct psalms which go with the Introit and the Communion Antiphon for the whole 1962 Missal (the usus antiquior of the Roman Rite, the Traditional Mass). The Communion antiphon can be sung in alternation with the verses of a psalm; this pattern is in part preserved by the Introit as printed in the Liber Usualis, but you can add further verses of the psalm. In both cases this book sets out the correct psalm with the correct tone in a user-friendly way. It can be used by a cantor with the rest of the schola singing the antiphon, or with different combinations of singers. The practice of singing psalm verses with the Communion antiphon at the Traditional Mass (as opposed to a motet or Vespers hymn or whatever) is gaining ground at least as an option, certainly in my experience in England. The number of verses sung can be adjusted according to the time available, so it is very practical as well as authentic. It is harder to incorporate extra... More > verses into the Introit since there is usually less time. The book can be viewed and downloaded as a pdf here: http://www.musicasacra.com/pdf/psalmorum.pdf< Less
