n/a by Srédérune Fantique, an alias of artist Frédérique Santune (, is a book that groups a series of drawings, notes and photographs completed over a ten year period. The book however is not just a simple collection but a careful selection of works into what is itself a new work in book form. Using the English acronym for non-applicable (and also suggesting not available or no answer) the book leads us through a series of ideas which gradually begin to tell a story. This however is not a read through book from beginning to end and the story we are told comes in fragments, both visual and textual. Literally there is no answer, it does not provide a rounded resolve but instead provokes us into considering the narrative through it's use of language and form. Clearly influenced by the language and typographic works of Brion Gysin, the creative forms used throughout the book mimic each other or often overlap/merge in humorous... More > playful ways demonstrating the artists ability to observe and interpret the everyday. It's rare to find a book these days that is in itself an art work, that doesn't simply document art works towards some end e.g. exhibition catalogue, this book is all that and well worth the small investment.< Less
