This is a very useful booklet which I shall be dishing out to catechumens. A wonderful introduction to the vital (but often overlooked) catechetical lectures of St Cyril of Jerusalem, and to the Orthodox Church. We Orthodox teachers often go about teaching the faith the wrong way - by trying to explain symbols and sacraments to the uninitiated. St Cyril reminds us that we should begin with the fundamental doctrines and the Scriptures. Moreover,, the days when inquirers to Orthodoxy were invariably Anglicans or Roman Caholics already familiar with the doctrines of the Trinity, Incarnation and Resurrection are over. So this booklet comes to us at an apt time. This should be in every catechist's collection. Such concise literature, which any busy inquirer can finish reading in a train journey and return to time and again, is sorely needed today. Congratulations to Subdeacon Kristian Akselberg for providing us with this useful tool.
